‘Sexy as Folk’ has featured on the blog before over on our Shrove Tuesday post, because it’s dreamy tones can float across any dinner table and leave your guests feeling relaxed yet still upbeat enough to engage in conversation. Serving up sounds by the likes of Hozier, Bishop Briggs and Jeff Buckley, this playlist definitely nods to the sexier side of folk music, just try not to serve too many oysters and your guests should be fine.

Upon browsing Spotify for a jazz lounge playlist we stumbled upon the user Calm_Jazz_Broadcaster, who is most definitely worth a follow. If you’re into your jazz and are constantly looking for new collections to follow then look no further than their public playlists. With so many to choose from there really would be something to suit any kind of dinner party. That is where we found James_Lander’s ‘Cafe Jazz Playlist’; the most popular of the repertoire, with 3,676 followers. With 1,670 songs you won’t have to worry about getting up to change the mix, and trust us, you won’t want to.
Feelin’ Good – by Spotify
This playlist is all about the positive vibes that ooze from every part of soul, motown and funk. It is full of upbeat, timeless classics from artists we know and love such as Arethra Franklin, The Supreams, Bill Withers and Hot Chocolate. Great easy listening for those evenings that might end with a little bit of dancing.
Samplesaurus – by Kate Tighe
Disco, soul and funk are T’s favourite genres of music, and she has a real ear for it. Samplesaurus is a playlist upbeat, jazzy dance music with samples and some amazing covers thrown into the mix to boot (e.g check out Roseaux’s cover of Walking on the Moon by the Police – it’s awesome). This playlist is her go to when hosting friends, it always creates a gorgeous, grown up ambiance.
